We're telling a story, wait no, stories. And the demands of that are different from the demands of a fairy tale.
Having been there done that, our co-founder, Peggy realized just how important it is to have a strong support system that understands and can relate to the arduous course of recovery. Apart from all the love she has received, exercising has always been a huge part of her journey. Through it all, she has learnt to be contented with her body and aspires to celebrate all body sizes and self-image!
Peggy strongly believes that everything happens for a reason and it is perhaps a paradox that if the C monster hadn't said Hi, she would highly likely not be who and where she is today (sorry for being cliché, but promise we are sweethearts).
She has tried various ways of wanting to give back to the Cancer society, but nothing fell through at the end. Thus she decided to take the leap of faith to start this brand independently, hoping to not only create a community to tell stories and struggles of Cancer patients and survivors, but also to gift the Cancer society as much as she can.
Hi! I am Peggy, but you can call me Pegs.
In the summer (all year round in Singapore) of 2013, I was 17 going on to the 18th year of my life adventure, and I unanticipatedly found a way to occupy my time for 6 months.
It involved a few bags of drugs, a few sessions with knives, about 4 tubes each time and a lot of needles. I have had to battle with a little blood, losing my hair, feeling sick and the thought of getting engulf by... the Cancer monster.
I thought it was the worse time of my life but looking at it now, I guess it was one of the best times. I fell in love - with the people around me, with exercising, with the musing idea of my future and, I fell in love with creating a better version of myself inside and out.
Well of course if I have had a choice, I would most definitely draw myself away from the verge of the abyss at any cost. Sadly, that is not how life works. Sometimes you just have to embrace what comes your way and know that at the end of the day, it is for the better.
